In 2000, walking around the flightline on Randolph Air Force Base at 4:00 am, I told my best friend that I believed my life purpose is to build the capacity of others—to help them see possibility in themselves and others. She asked me what that looks like. I told her, “I believe God wants us to live lives of peace, purpose, and passion.” That life purpose fueled my community building outreach efforts that followed working with individuals, organizations and communities in San Antonio, D.C., Maryland, and Las Vegas; my capacity building work in Iraq in 2007, and my introduction to church-led intercultural missions in 2008 in Burundi. Peace, Purpose and PassionTM became my grounding principles. Since then, Capacity Builders International has become a conduit for personal growth through mentoring, coaching, conferences, retreats, and missions trips as well as organizational and community growth through training, conferences, camps, and community development initiatives.
